How A Light Curtain Works

With the ubiquity of smart lighting solutions in the home, it’s not hard to imagine why light curtains have been making their way into the market. The emergence of intelligent lighting solutions has made it easier than ever to control the amount of light in the room, at any time of the day. Light curtains do exactly that: they allow you to control the amount of light that passes through them. This is perfect for creating privacy when you need it and even better for saving energy.

What Is A Light Curtain?

A light curtain is a type of optical illusion that makes the room behind it appear to be a wall or another solid object. To create this illusion, you must have a light source. Assuming that the lamp is behind a curtain, the only setting that you need is the distance between the lamp and the wall in front of the lamp. The lamp should be positioned behind a curtain that is the same distance from the wall as the distance between the lamp and the curtain. So, if the distance between the lamp and the curtain is four feet, the light curtain should also be four feet from the wall.

How To Set Up A Light Curtain

Measure the distance between the lamp and the curtain. – Measure the length of the lamp cord. – Take the lamp cord and wrap it around a broomstick or dowel. – Wrap the wrapping around the base of the lamp cord and tape it in place. – Plugin the lamp and adjust the height of the light so that it is behind the curtain but not too close to the wall. – Place the curtains on either side of the room and use a tape measure to mark the curtains at the measurements that you just marked. – Cut the curtains at the marked points. – Remove the wrapping from the lamp cord and wrap the cord around the broomstick again. – Tape the wrapping to the broomstick and plug the lamp in again. – Adjust the height of the light so that it is behind the curtain, as before. – Repeat the setup and cutting of curtains, removing the wrapping from the cord, until you’ve set up the curtain cord all the way around the room.

How Much Does A Light Curtain Cost?

Light curtain installation is an all-inclusive process, meaning that it will cost you the same amount regardless of the size of your room. As an example, installing a light curtain for a small apartment could cost $50, whereas installing a light curtain for a large home could cost $100. This price tag is determined by the size and complexity of the installation.
